Harvest time has started in QC and MTL. The first sure sign is the abundance of strawberries at local markets. Next up will be the new potatoes (ab fab!!), blueberries (esp from the Eastern Townships), watermelon (yes!) and corn. It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!
The weather's been miserable these past couple of weeks, what with the near constant over-cast skies and rain. But sometimes, beauty shines out. And when we're especially lucky, it's on the weekends when we really get to enjoy it.
Garlic galore!!!! The first crop of summer garlic on happy display at Jean-Talon market.$12 for a bunch of 5. Yikes!! Pricey but oh-so worth it.
Most often than not, it'll be a local who stops me to ask what the parking signs mean. Tourists have somehow gotten the word that it's better not to bring a car into the city.
K, some say tagging's a form of expression and maybe even art. IMO, not so much. Expressionism... meh. Taggers can certainly be creative but when they splash their monikers on what are really great pieces of landscape graffiti art, they're just a plain nuisance. I'm calling you out, "Nesar"!!
Exterior banner of the exhibit commemorating the 40th anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Bed-In for Peace" at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal, May 1969.It was a fantastic exhibit, and you really felt possessed by camaraderie and love.I hope that stage it other cities.
Sometimes, taking the high road is just not worth it.
